Skills
Set up:
- Find a safe area that you can throw in
- Gather household items that can be stacked and thrown at (e.g., toilet paper rolls, boxes, toys, pillows)
Description:
- Use the items you have gathered to build a tower to aim at
- Once you have built your tower, stand an appropriate distance away and throw at the tower
- Count how many throws it takes you to knock down the whole tower
- Once you have destroyed your tower, build a new one
Variations:
- Have different 'levels' that become more difficult (i.e. start easy at level 1, a bit harder at level 2, and so on)
- Change the distance that you throw from
- Change the object/ball that you are throwing
Teaching points:
Throwing:
- Ready: stand side-onlike a surfer
- Aim: make a muscle man (throwing arm bent up above shoulder), point non-throwing arm at target
- Fire: step forward with opposite foot and throw
