Set Up:

  • Spread cones out over a large (15m x 15m) area (depending on number of children)
  • Place a tennis ball on top of each cone
  • Split children into two groups – Superheroes and Strikers

  • Strikers have to hit the balls off the cones with a pool noodle
  • Superheroes have to replace the balls back onto the cones
  • After a few minutes, stop the game and count how many balls are on top of the cones
  • Swap teams

  • Super Noodle Run: If you have enough participants, spread out over a much further distance
  • Noodle Run Race: If you have enough cones but not as many participants, set up lines of cones with balls on top and see how quickly children can successfully knock them off
  • Add bonus points for hitting only the ball and not the cone

Teaching Points:

  • Hands together
  • Ready: stand side on to the ball (use markers to assist)
  • Eyes on the ball
  • Step & Swing – step with the front foot towards the target

  • Hip to lip – arms are bent and travel from a child’s hip to their lip
  • Hands closed lightly
  • Eyes up
  • High knees
  • Land on the ball of the foot
