Follow the Trail is a fun activity that helps children develop leg muscles that are essential for walking.

Set up

Educator has a bunch of toys or objects for baby to pick up. Have the child’s favourite toy as an end point, as treasure at the end of the trail. This activity is great indoors or outdoors!

How to play
Step 1
  • Educator says: “We’re going on a walk to find the treasure and need to look out for clues along the way”
Step 2
  • Educator begins walking, dropping the objects (clues) one at a time
Step 3
  • Educator asks baby to pick them up, by squatting down and standing back up
Step 4
  • Once at the treasure, give the child time to play with their toys, or have the child lead the way back!
