Integration of Physical Literacy into Daily Programs
  • KIDDO is incorporated into the daily rhythm of every room, from nursery to kindergarten.
  • Structured movement sessions form a consistent part of each room’s daily rhythm, occurring after morning tea.
  • Daily movement includes intentional skill teaching opportunities as well as KIDDO Teaching and Learning Experience activities and guided play.
  • Educator prompting and role modelling are embedded within the daily rhythm, promoting responsive teaching and scaffolding, and child-directed learning in alignment with Quality Area 1 of the National Quality Standards.

Onboarding and Induction
  • New staff complete the KIDDO induction using the service’s welcome pack and receive mentoring from existing Champions.
  • The KIDDO 30-minute Certificate of Physical Literacy is embedded into trainee and educator induction ensuring educators are equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver KIDDO in their new rooms.
  • The induction process fosters understanding of how KIDDO supports children’s holistic wellbeing, connecting physical literacy to each educator’s planning and teaching responsibilities.

Collaboration with Parents and Caregivers
  • Families are regularly updated through StoryPark posts, newsletters, and Facebook, showcasing KIDDO activities, teaching cues, and links to national movement guidelines.
  • The service shares KIDDO rationale and QR codes on classroom displays, inviting families to access more information on the KIDDO website.
  • Family and community engagement is fostered through events such as Father’s Day KIDDO activities and regular community events involving community in physical activity.
  • Families have participated in a Physical Development Survey, with feedback used to shape future initiatives and partnerships.
