Bug Kicks

This activity is easy to set up and a great way for babies to learn new arm and leg movements
Set up
Tie a piece of string around a piece of foam or a soft toy/ball. Hang it down when baby is on their back or tummy, within their reach.
How to play
Step 1
- When baby is on their back, dangle the toy for baby to kick with their feet
- If the baby isn’t engaging, you can move the baby’s feet for them until they engage
Step 2
- When baby is on their belly, dangle the toy in front of baby to encourage them to swat at it with their hands
- If baby isn’t engaging, you can move the baby’s arms for them until they engage
Variations
Make it easier
- Dangle toy close to baby’s legs and arms
Make it harder
