Egg and Spoon Race
This classic is always a hit and can be adapted to be played alone or with others!
How to play
Step 1
- If playing with more than one child, separate children into two lines and stand 10 metres apart
Step 2
- Give your child the spoon, and balance the egg on the end
Step 3
- For a team activity, each child has a spoon and must run to the other end when it is their turn, balancing the egg on the spoon and transferring it to the next person’s spoon without dropping it
- For just one child, have them try and run around an obstacle whilst balancing the egg on the spoon
- You can join in to and make it even more fun!
- Aim to not drop the egg at all, otherwise you must start again
Variations
Make it easier
- Shorten the distances needed to carry the egg
- Your child can use two hands to hold the spoon
Make it harder
- Lengthen the distances needed to carry the egg
- Add obstacles to navigate
- Try hopping!
