A quick game that involves rocking from a tuck sit position to standing without using the hands. It focuses on core strength, coordination and balancing skills.
Set up

How to play
Step 1:
- Ask children to find their own small space.
- Demonstrate and ask children to form a tuck sit position (knees hugged to chest).
Step 2:
- When ready, children attempt to rock back onto their shoulders, then forward to sitting.
- The challenge is to attempt to rock and roll up to standing without using the hands.
Step 3:
Add in additonal challenges, such as:
- Can you rock and roll into a different shape (e.g., straddle, pike)?
- Can you rock, roll and jump as you stand?
Variations
Make it easier
- Rock and roll into a still, seated position (not standing).
- Rock and roll to stand using one hand for extra support.
